The promise is for your children as well (Acts 2.39)

If you are a children's worker - or a parent for that matter - this post over at the help I work with children blog is must reading. Children are far more spiritually open and aware than we sometimes think. They are also able to grasp spiritual truth in ways that would surprise at least some of us. Lynn's post is a timely reminder and a real encouragement to build expectation into our children and perhaps a stimulus to our own expectations when working with children.

Worship like children hear it

Here are a few things I've heard children sing:

"Henry's bible! Henry's bible!" (Send revival! Send revival!)

"Faith, I can move a mountain, I have got a big surprise" (Faith I can move a mountain, I can do all things through Christ)

"You are a bubble king" (You are above all kings)

Afterthought: do we make songs too complicated for kids or is it a case of the words just not fitting particularly well with the music?

Train up a child

Once you have children, you really do begin to appreciate children's ministry and think (worry?)about how you are going to bring your children up in a way that pleases the Lord and shapes them in the things of God.

I know there are lots of course these days and books as well.
